Banstead and Nork Amateur Operatic Society has been established since 1928, it is a thriving and friendly group of singers, dancers and actors from all walks of life.

We perform two productions each year;  the spring show is a fully staged musical at either Epsom Playhouse or the Adrian Mann Theatre whilst the autumn production is usually a pantomime or variety show at Banstead Community Hall.

 

We are passionate about the value of amateur theatre to the local community and now in our 80th Anniversary, hope that we can count on public support to continue to provide local, value for money, entertainment to young and old.

 

New members are always welcome.

Message from the Director

 

Dear BANAOS Member & Non-members,

 

As you know, your next production is Cole Porter's masterpiece "KISS ME KATE" and you have done me the honour of asking me to direct it for you.
 
The rest of the team are the very talented Brian Steel as Musical Director and the young and energetic Claire Izzard as our choreographer.

It is being presented on the last week of May 2010 at the Epsom Playhouse. My last production there was "THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK" which won the NODA award for Best Musical.
 
We are going to put on a fabulous show and I would love to have as many of you as I can involved in it.
 
There are many small parts yet to be assigned and I always direct all members of the Ensemble individually.
 
I can guarantee that you will have a great time if you join us this winter. You will NEVER be bored! :-)

We especially need another four girl dancers and one or two more boy dancers.
 
Even if you haven't quite decided yet, please come to the first rehearsal/meeting at 8pm on Tuesday 5th January 2010 at the Nork Community Centre, Nork Way, Banstead, Surrey SM7 1JB. No obligation and you'll have a great time in the warm. :-)
